Warrant Meetings. 2016: Our second year holding Warrant Meetings at The Center at the Heights

New Town Meeting Member Orientation with Moderator, Michael Fee, 6:45 p.m.

The League of Women Voters Needham annually hosts Warrant Meetings. This is a wonderful opportunity for Town Meeting Members, and anyone else, to learn about the issues that will be voted on at Town Meeting the following week.

We will divide into small groups, by precinct. Town department representatives will informally discuss the Warrant articles relevant to their expertise. Town Meeting Members will have the opportunity to ask questions and get those questions answered within those small precinct groupings.

  "YOUth Should Vote!" Student Video Contest. Help us mobilize the youth vote in Election 2016!

LWVMA Student Video Contest Launches February 1, 2016

The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts invites all MA high school students to enter our third annual video contest. Create a 30-second video (public service announcement) encouraging young people to register to vote and turn out at the polls in November and submit it to us at www.lwvma.org between February 1 and March 31, 2016.

First place wins $1,000; second place wins $500; and third place wins $250. Winners will attend an award ceremony at the Massachusetts State House, and the winning videos will be publicized statewide.

Nomination Papers for Town-wide Offices and Town Meeting Members will be available in the Town Clerk's Office beginning January 4, 2016 for the Annual Town Election to be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Candidates for Town-wide Offices must obtain at least 50 valid signatures of registered voters town wide and new Town Meeting Member candidates must obtain at least 10 valid signatures of registered voters in their precinct.
