On Thursday, October 5, 2017 author Hannah Kimberley painted a profile of the subject of her recently-published biography, A Woman’s Place Is at the Top A Biography of Annie Smith Peck, Queen of the Climbers.
Hannah Kimberley is an academic who has made Peck the focus of her scholarship. She is considered the authority on Peck, and her work has been referenced for numerous publications. Hannah wrote, “My biography involves a more intimate view of Peck and her accomplishments that will be enjoyed by a popular audience – one that recreates her dramatic achievements and iron resolve to explore uncharted territory and conquer virgin peaks in a world dominated by men.”
The event was co-sponsored by the Women’s Suffrage Celebration Coalition of Massachusetts. The League of Women Voters of Needham donated A Woman’s Place Is at the Top to the Needham Public Library, Needham High School Library and Pollard Middle School Library in appreciation of Hannah Kimberley.
