An informational meeting on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 PM on Zoom will discuss the proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) zoning bylaw (Article 18) that will come before Town Meeting in May.

Needham must update its current ADU bylaw to be compliant with recent changes at the State level. This session is intended to provide background and context so that Town Meeting Members feel informed ahead of the vote. The meeting will also be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.

During the meeting, we will cover:

  • What ADUs are and who benefits from them
  • An overview of how ADUs are being addressed in communities across Massachusetts
  • An explanation of the updated ADU bylaw that will be voted on at Town Meeting in May

There will also be time for questions.
