Constitution Series 1: The Framers and the Framing
Tuesday, September 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm$15
Our journey through the ins and outs of government returns this year with the Constitution Series. This fast paced and interactive overview focuses on four aspects of the Constitution to discuss and digest. We are fortunate that Bob Baker, retired Needham High teacher who took us on a tour of the Federal Government in last years’ Civics Series, will lead all four sessions.
You won’t just listen! Mr. Baker will bring you into the discussion and give you an opportunity to make Constitutional judgements on real and hypothetical cases, and to offer your own ideas for Constitutional amendments.
The sessions will build on one another and may not fall exactly as described below. All sessions are limited to 30 and will be held on Zoom. We highly recommend registering for the whole series!
Session 1: The Framers and the Framing
The founders of this republic struggled to solve problems and establish a government in the context of the very challenging times in which they lived. We will discuss their motivations and their compromises, then overview the document itself, the Constitution of the United States of America. We will also learn about the ratification process and the addition of the Bill of Rights.
Date: Tuesday, Sep 14 Time: 7:30-9:00PM
Fee: $15 ($45 if you register for the full series).
