2022 Civics Series

Needham Community Education and the League of Women Voters of Needham are pleased to present a new Civics Series. Sessions are open to all who want to learn more about important issues related to our democracy and our economy. Each program in the four-part series will take place virtually, via Zoom, from 7:30-9:00 PM. Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, January 25, The Current State of Voting Rights and Recent History
Tuesday, February 15, How Democratic is the U.S.? An Examination of the Electoral College and Redistricting
Tuesday, March 22, Equity and Economic Mobility in the Post-COVID World
Tuesday, April 5, Money in Politics.

Cathy Dowd, AP U.S. Government teacher at Needham High School, is the presenter for the voting rights, democracy, and money in politics programs. Samantha Perry, Deputy Director of the Office of Economic Empowerment for the Massachusetts State Treasury, will present on the post-COVID economy. Each event will be informative and engaging.
