Needham League Presents 25-Year Awards
The League of Women Voters of Needham recognized three Town Meeting Members for 25 years of service to the town as representative Town Meeting Members. League president Carol Patey, assisted by League member Gail Davis, presented the awards to: Michael Diener, Mark Gluesing (not present), and Jill Kahn prior to the start of Town Meeting on May 8.



LWV Needham Board Votes to Support Five Town Meeting Warrant Articles
Our Board of Directors voted at its April 13 meeting to support five Town Meeting Warrant articles. The Board supports these based on positions resulting from League studies at the local, state, and national levels. The articles the Board voted to support are:
- Article 6, Appropriate for Small Repair Grant Program
- Article 18, Amend Zoning By-Law – Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs);
- Article 22, Appropriate to Community Preservation Fund Supplement (related to the Community Housing Reserve);
- Article 23, Appropriate for Needham Housing Authority Seabeds Cook Preservation
- Article 39, Citizens Petition for new by-law section on Plastic Bags
LWV-Needham Town Meeting Warrant Meetings April 24 at 7:30 pm

170 Town Meeting Members and town officials attended Warrant Meetings this year, on Monday, April 24, at 7:30 pm. Twenty-eight joined remotely and the remainder attended at the Center at the Heights at 300 Hillside Ave.
The Orientation for new Town Meeting Members was attended by 35 TMMs.
Many thanks to the League coordinator, Susan Welby, and to our League facilitators, board representatives, town staff, and article proponents. A big thank you also goes to the staff at the Center at the Heights for helping us with our space and remote meeting needs.
Town Meeting Information
The 2023 Annual Town Meeting starts Monday, May 1, at 7:30 pm and the Special Town Meeting starts Monday, May 8, at 7:30. Warrants, information from the Moderator, and written information for articles are (or will be) posted on the town website.
