Instructions from the Town Manager

Voter Registration

The deadline to register to vote prior to the Annual Town Election is Saturday, March 29th. Stop by the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours* or during the special voter registration session on Saturday, March 29th

from 9 am until 5 pm. You can also register online at the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s website.

In Person Absentee Voting

This is available at the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours*. The last day to vote absentee in person is Monday April 7th at 12 pm.

Absentee By Mail

Contact the Town Clerk’s office to request that an absentee ballot be mailed to you at your residence or another address. Please make sure that you sign your request and include your name, address, and birth date on it. You may also request an absentee ballot in person at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours*.

Early Vote By mail

The Vote by Mail Application Deadline is due by Tuesday, April 1st.  You can do so by returning the white postcard that was mailed to you in December 2024, by applying online through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website, or applying at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours*. If you are voting by mail, please note that the US Postal Service recommends mailing your ballot at least 1 week before election day.

Early Voting

Registered voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots prior to the Annual Town Election on Tuesday, April 8th. Early voting will be available in the Select Board Chambers at Needham Town Hall for all registered voters of the Town of Needham.

Early in-person voting hours are as follows:

Saturday, March 29: 9 am – 5 pm
Monday, March 31: 8 am – 5 pm
Tuesday, April 1: 8 am –  6 pm
Wednesday, April 2: 8 – 5 pm
Thursday April 3: 8 am – 5 pm
Friday April 4: 8 am – 12:30 pm
